ABOUT
US:
Vintage Sports Promotions was born in Feb 1998. The vintage card market was at a low. Sports cards and memorabilia shows were also very slow due to the rising popularity of Beanie Babies and the introduction of Ebay.
Vintage Sports deals mostly in vintage material -that's where our name comes from. Vintage Sports wanted to run a quality , vintage sports memorabilia show in the Boston area.
We wanted to go back to the good old days of old fashioned Saturday card shows. At that time there were mostly Sunday shows. We wanted to make it more of an event than just a show. We brought in old Boston sports legends to sign autographs and gave out a lot of prizes and free items.
We gave our dealers a fair deal -- eight (8') foot Tables with room to to move and we made it fun for the kid's. We felt that parents wanted to share their hobby with their children, who are the future of this business . We felt that if we let the kid's in for free and made it fun for them the parents would not only bring them but would want to come back.
Vintage Sports currently produces a monthly memorabilia show the 2nd Saturday of the month at the Hilton Garden Inn in Burlington, Mass. The show is the longest running most attended monthly sports card and memorabilia show in New England.
Vintage Sports has tried to keep the prices down. Admission is still only $2, Kids are still free and most autograph guests are only $10 per autograph. The show now draws dealers and customers from all over New England and averages more than 400 people a month in attendance.
In addition VSP is trying to give back to the community. Every year at christmas We collect cards for kids and donate them to Children's Hospital to be distributed to the children for Christmas.
